Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Abhishek Banerjee, the General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, has intensified his attack on the BJP during his ongoing East Burdwan tour and 21st day of Navajwar Yatra.
On the last day of his tour, he visited Galsi and asked the leaders of East Burdwan to provide him with a list of the number of roads not built under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Adarsh Yojana (PMAGY) in the entire district.
Sources suggest that Abhishek Banerjee is particularly interested in identifying the roads that were promised under the PMAGY scheme but not built. The scheme is aimed at creating model villages in rural areas by developing basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply, and sanitation.
Abhishek Banerjee accused the BJP of cheating the people of East Burdwan by not delivering on their promises under the PMAGY scheme. He also alleged that the BJP has been using divisive tactics to gain political mileage, rather than focusing on the development of the district.
Abhishek Banerjee's attack on the BJP comes in the wake of the Trinamool Jan Sanyog Yatra, which aims to reach out to the people of West Bengal and showcase the achievements of the Trinamool Congress government. The yatra has been well received by the people, and Abhishek Banerjee's visit to Galsi is seen as a continuation of the Trinamool's efforts to consolidate its position in the state.
